Straight 31 1/2 inch blade with broad, shallow fuller and 10 1/2" blued and gilt panel engraved with foliage and panoplies of arms, one side with crown and GR cipher, the other with Royal coat-of-arms; gilt brass hilt of standard pattern, the bilobate guard with unusual spring-mounted folding shell; silver wire-wrapped grip; gilt brass-mounted black leather scabbard, the throat engraved Wooley & Co./Birmingm. Condition: Blade with scattered patches of spotting/light pitting and retaining nearly all the bright blued and gilt decoration; Hilt retains 90% plus gilt finish, the tip of the quillon broken; Scabbard mounts with much gilt finish, the leather showing considerable surface crazing and flaking, some tender areas and with repair at the drag.
