A Charles I ascribed Wessex area seal-top spoon with a large 'Group A' terminal, pricked "W.G.I.W 1637" by Robert Tyte, Salisbury circa 1637 , (T.R. monogram in bowl, animal and trefid on back of the stem) - 17cm long, 1.5oz. Literature: Kent, West Country Spoons and their Makers pp.140 for details of this maker and fig.64 for similar seal castings. Jackson's Revised pp.272 for similar marks. See Illustration
