A CHINESE BRONZE RITUAL TRIPOD FOOD VESSEL, LIDING WESTERN ZHOU DYNASTY (1100-770 BC) The tri-lobed body raised on three columnar legs, cast above each leg with a large taotie mask with rounded eyes, all reserved on a leiwen ground, a two-character inscription to the interior side 6 ¾ in. (17 cm.) high Provenance Paula Heuser Antiquitäten, Hamburg, Germany, 5 June 1935. The Hermann Rosenfeld Collection, Hamburg, Germany, circa 1930s. Acquired by the current owner from the heirs of Hermann Rosenfeld.
