A Chinese famille rose Portuguese market armorial export dish, 18th Century
A Chinese famille rose Portuguese market armorial export dish, 18th Century the small rectangular meat dish painted to the centre with oval coat-of-arms and motto 'Ave Maria', the cavetto with band of under glaze blue hexagonal fret design, the rim moulded as a woven surface and painted and gilt with flowering garlands -- 11¼in. (28.7cm.) wide. The arms are of Francisco Antonio Da Veiga Cabral Camar Pinheiro, a Brazilian Field Marshal who lived from 1734 to 1810 who ended his career as Govenor of Arms of Rio Da Janerio. There were two services comissioned with this coat of arms. The first in 1790 and the second, from which this dish comes in 1795.
