A CIRCULAR GILT-BRONZE 'LOTUS' CENSER 17TH CENTURY The heavily cast censer is decorated to the sides with stylized upright lotus lappets, divided to the central section with a double-string band, just above the apocryphal Xuande mark in a vertical line. Each side is applied with a handle in the shape of a mythical beast with horns. The base is similarly decorated with a band of lappets pointing downwards and the interior is cast with straight lines towards a central circular bottom. 5 ½ in.
