A cloisonné enamel jar and cover Meiji period (late 19th century), signed Kyoto Namikawa (Workshop of Namikawa Yasuyuki; 1845-1927) The tapering ovoid jar decorated in polychrome enamels and silver wires with a chrysanthemum branch and flying sparrows on a black ground, the lid, shoulder and foot rim with a floret pattern, the lid set with a gilt-copper chrysanthemum finial, signature on a silver tablet mounted on base; gilt rims 4 ½ in. (11.4 cm.) high
