Lawton (1879-1955, Derbyshire and Lancashire): "But what a match you must have had and how you must have worked that grey matter under your venerable hairs," Michael Falcon (1888-1976, Norfolk): "Thank you ever so much for giving me a place in your side at Eastbourne ... The match I shall never forget and it was a fitting conclusion to your first class cricket," telegrams include one from Tommy Higson (1873-1949, Derbyshire and Lancashire) and the Philadelphian Pilgrims; together with a 1p. t.l.s. by the Earl of Londsdale and a congratulatory telegram dated 1902.
