ONE WITH THE MARK OF JAN PAPINCK, GRONINGEN, PROBABLY 1657/58, ALSO STRUCK WITH LATER DUTCH DUTY MARK, ZII ; ONE APPARENTLY UNMARKED; PROBABLY GRONINGEN, 17TH CENTURY; ONE WITH THE MARK OF HARMEN TER BEET, APPINGEDAM, CIRCA 1650; AND ONE WITH MAKER'S MARK A FLOWER
A collection of four Dutch silver 'apostle' spoons One with the mark of Jan Papinck, Groningen, probably 1657/58, also struck with later Dutch duty mark, ZII ; one apparently unmarked; probably Groningen, 17th Century; one with the mark of Harmen ter Beet, Appingedam, circa 1650; and one with maker's mark a flower Each with fig-shaped bowl, the cast tapering stem with fruit-picking bird, the baluster top with a figure of an apostle, marked on bowls 17.9 cm. max. 148 gr.
