A collection of fragments of approximately 20 literary or liturgical codices and ecclesiastical documents, mostly in Sahidic, manuscripts on papyrus and vellum approximately 20 packages of fragments, some with several from the same or different items, including (i) 52mm. by 80mm., part of 6 lines (and traces of 5 others), fine uncial script, Sahidic, perhaps a martyrology; (ii) 50mm. by 65mm., part of 4 lines, apparently mentioning Jesus Christ, sixth century; (iii) 120mm. by 60mm., 11 lines, fine uncial, Sahidic, part of a codex, seventh to eighth century; (iv) 80mm. by 70mm., 10 lines, a list of names with their villages, including Anoup of Pmankshik, and Paule of Psoi [El-Manshâh, Middle Egypt], described in Rotulus VI (1949); (v) 142mm. by 75mm., part of 13 lines, a magical text mentioning the names of the demons Belouch Barbarouch and Karroucha (for the former, cf. A.M. Kropp, Ausgewählte Koptische Zaubertexte, 1930, II, p.24), sixth century; (vi) 100mm. by 115mm., part of 7 lines, mentioning ‘John the Egyptian’; (vii) 63mm. by 80mm., a list of donations made by the steward (“oikonomos”) of the monastery of Papmouthios, name on verso of Athanasius, seventh century; (viii) 110mm. by 85mm., part of 8 lines, a list of names, in a fine flamboyant calligraphic hand, fifth century; (ix) 70mm. by 85mm., part of 5 lines, liturgical, fifth to sixth century; (x) three large pieces (and a few small crumbs) on vellum, in Coptic uncial, apparently a commentary on marriage, perhaps eighth century; and ten similar fragments or envelopes of pieces from literary and documentary manuscripts, some very small, some very fragile, all but one on papyrus, a few mounted under perspex, most with descriptive notes
