A collection of three Georgian and Victorian gaming jetton tokens. Consisting of a 19th century Queen Victoria gaming token also known as a 'Cumberland Jack' with the obverse decorated with a bust of a young Queen Victoria facing left and reading H.M.G.M. QUEEN VICTORIA and the reverse decorated with a depiction of the Duke of Cumberland on route to claim the crown of Hanover above a dragon, dated 1861 and reading TO HANOVER together with a Prince of Wales Half Sovereign gaming token, the obverse decorated with a bust of a young Queen Victoria facing left and reading VICTORIA QUEEN OF GREAT BRITAIN with the reverse decorated with the Prince of Wales's feathers beneath a crown and reading THE PRINCE OF WALES MODEL HALF SOVN and a George III Half Spade Guinea gaming token, dated 1797. 0.9 in (2.2 cm) diameter, 0.7 cm (1.9 cm) diameter, 0.7 cm (1.9 cm) diameter. (3 items) Provenance: This lot came from The Ronald Goode collection at the Pumphouse Educational Museum in Rotherhithe. The Museum housed a fascinating private collection of artifacts discovered on the Thames foreshore in Rotherhithe along with an interesting collection of Peak Freans biscuit factory items which once existed locally in the area. The later collection also included a magnificent six foot iced replica of Queen Elizabeth II's wedding cake with a letter of thanks from Elizabeth II which was on permanent exhibit at The Pumphouse Museum.
