A continental parcel-gilt silver 'trinkspiel' cup, unmarked, probably German, 18th/19th century realistically modelled as a drunken bacchanal putto astride a wine barrel, the putto supporting a central funnel embellished with fruiting vines, the barrel inset with cast panels at each end depicting Old Testament scenes from Cain and Abel and Adam and Eve, on two scrolling strap-work feet, later French 'swan' control mark 11cm., 4 2/8 in. high 177.2gr., 5oz. 14dwt.
