A COPTIC WOOL AND LINEN FRAGMENT FROM A HANGING CIRCA 3RD-4TH CENTURY A.D. Of loop woven wool, depicting a standing figure with arms outstretched, wearing an orange and yellow striped tunic, alongside a laden fruit tree, remains of an inscription and a secondary head on related fragments, mounted, 31 7/8 in. (81 cm.) long max.; a Coptic linen and wool pendant roundel with a purple and black border around a group of red, yellow and blue foliate motifs, mounted, circa 5th-8th Century A.D., 9 in. (23 cm.) long; a Coptic multicoloured wool roundel fragment with a stylized winged animal within a border of interlocking coloured blocks, mounted, circa 6th-9th Century A.D., 9 in. (23 cm.) long; and a linen fragment with fringe border and two polychrome loop woven wool youthful male heads, with red painted Greek inscription above, probably circa 4th-5th Century A.D., 39 x 16 in.
