A cut-glass and plated metal carriage-lantern bearing the Royal Arms of Queen Victoria LATE 19TH CENTURY The pierced metal crown finial with a blue velvet lining surmounting the double-tiered pagoda roof, pierced for ventilation, the slightly flared cylindrical metal body cast with fruit and foliage borders, fitted with hinged metal door panel and three clear glass bevel-edged and engraved lappet-shaped panels, the central panel with the Queen's Arms within scrolls and foliage flanked by panels with crowns above the Royal VR cypher beneath swags of patriotic flowers and foliage, divided by four further smaller triangular blue-flash glass panels cut with roses, buds and foliage; the whole later adapted for electricity and mounted on a fluted black and white veined marble base (usual wear and damage consistent with age) 31½ in. (80 cm.) high overall
