A detailed, fully rigged display model of the French frigate 'La Pomone' of circa 1794, with bound masts, yards, standing and running rigging and full suit of stitched linen sails with reefing points, anchors, catheads, carved lion figurehead, hair rails, gratings, belaying rails and pins, stove pipe, deck rails, companion ways, capstan, double helm, shot racks and shot (decayed) , upper and main deck guns in carriages with tackle, five ship's boats clinker built with bottom boards and thwarts, four in chocks and one in stern davits. The hull, copper plated to the water line and with stern and quarter window decoration is finished in varnish -- 43 x 67in. (109 x 170cm.). Stand and glazed case See illustration
