A Dutch burr-walnut and walnut longcase clock Andries Vermeulen Amsterdam, second quarter 18th century The case of typical form, the arched hood surmounted by carved vase-shaped finials, the arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring with matted centre, with subsidiary seconds ring, signature plaque signed A. Vermeulen, Amsterdam , and date aperture, the arch with silvered subsidiary ring for strike/not strike, the four-pillar brass twin-barrel movement with Dutch strike on a bell; two large weights, two small weights, winding key, door key and pendulum 274 cm. high
