A Dutch burr-walnut and walnut longcase clock with alarm Georgius Putters, Rotterdam, third quarter 18th century The case of typical form, inlaid overall with fruitwood bands and marquetry, the hood surmounted by carved giltwood figural finials, the engraved brass arched dial with scrolling moonphase above, the silvered chapter ring surrounding an engraved and matted centre, signature swag signed Geors Putters, Rotterdam , with subsidiary seconds ring with date aperture, sectors for day of week above VI, the pierced black-painted hands with alarm setting disc, the brass twin-barrel movement with anchor escapement and Dutch strike on two bells; two brass weights, pendulum, winding key, door key 283 cm. high
