A Dutch burr walnut repeating alarm longcase clock with ships automaton, Pieter Bramer third quarter 18th century and later 34-cm brass dial with engraved border and rococo spandrels, engraved silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals signed Pieter Bramer Amsterdam, foliate pierced hands and alarm disc, subsidiary seconds and apertures for date, day, month, moonphase and automaton in the arch with ships rocking to and fro' on a choppy sea with connection to the going train of the anchor movement with trip repeating rack Dutch half hour striking on alternating bells, alarm on the large bell, later burr walnut veneered case with bell top surmounted by a giltwood atlas and two angels, foliate pierced frets above and below the shaped cornice with carved ornament, glazed door flanked by brass capped columns, canted trunk with long shaped door and Europe lenticle, moulded bombed base with foliate marquetry inlay, raised on claw feet 291cm. high incl. atlas.
