A DUTCH GILT-BRASS-MOUNTED MAHOGANY SERPENTINE CABINET CIRCA 1770, THE BASE REDUCED IN HEIGHT The shaped cresting centred by a laurel-wrapped portrait medallion of a Roman Emperor, above two panelled doors each with a ribbon-tied medallion and a classical urn, enclosing one recessed shelf above two mahogany-fronted shelves, above three drawers, the canted angles inset with stop-fluted corinthian columns, the bombé base section with two drawers above a shaped apron centred by a classical urn, the angles with foliate-cast pierced mounts, on shaped bracket feet, the base section originally with a further drawer 94 in. (239 cm.) high; 75 in. (190.5 cm.) wide; 29 in. (73.5 cm.) deep
