A DUTCH GREEN-PAINTED AND PARCEL-GILT CARVED WOOD BRACKET CLOCK ON WALL BRACKET J.P. KROESE, AMSTERDAM. THIRD QUARTER 18TH CENTURY The waisted case with pierced brass side panels and a giltwood vase finial, the polychrome painted brass dial plate decorated with Neptune and Mercury emblematic of Trade, standing in front of wooden barrels and crates, one crate inscribed VoC , the white enamel Roman and Arabic dial signed J.P. KROESE/AMSTERDAM, pierced and engraved brass hour hand, later brass minute hand, the five pillar twin chain-fusee movement with anchor escapement and silk suspension, strike on two bells with trip repeat, the wall bracket with carved parcel-gilt C-scrolls, flowers and leaves; the case and bracket partially redecorated; pendulum; winding key. 76 cm. high (overall) (2)
