THE MOVEMENT SIGNED LAURENS RUPERT; CASE AND MOVEMENT ASSOCIATED The case of typical form inlaid with fruitwood lines, the trunkdoor with later inlay depicting foliage and a parrot, the dial painted into the arch with an elegant scene and rolling moonface, with engraved silvered selection ring above indicating the tunes, AIMABLE VAINQUER/T FEEST VAN FLOORA - ZANG AIR/T HAAGSE OFFESIERTIE - FOLLIE D'ESPAGNE/KEES MYN VREYIER - BRUIDS MENUET/ENGELSE FOELIE - GAVOTTE VAN CHERER/MENUET VAN HASSE - DUYTSE MARSCH/CLEEMEEN , brass dial with slaan/niet slaan and spelen/niet spelen levers to each side, silvered arcaded chapter ring, matted centre, subsidiary seconds ring above with foliate engraved centre, painted and engraved sectors for day and month, three ringed winding holes, engraved silvered signature swag inscribed LAURENS RUPERT/AMSTELDAM centred by a date aperture, the reverse inscribed with monogram LRP , three train eight day movement with five ringes pillars, anchor escapement, Dutch strike on two bells, 17.3 cm. long pinned barrel positioned to one side of the movement, playing twelve tunes on thirteen bells with twenty-eight hammers; three large brass weights, pendulum; crank key 275 cm. high (overall)
