THIRD QUARTER 18TH CENTURY; CASE AND MOVEMENT ASSOCIATED The case of typical form, the hood surmounted by giltwood figural finials, the top of the backboard inscribed to the inside with inventory number AF265 , the dial with polychrome painted rolling moonphase to the arch, engraved silvered selection ring above indicating the twelve tunes, the brass dial with polychrome decorated flowers and birds, silvered subsidiary rings for slaan/niet slaan and speelen/niet speelen, silvered arcaded chapter ring inscribed Gerrit ter Vooren/AMSTERDAM , the matted centre decorated with musical figures, circular sector with chamfered border surrounding the silvered seconds ring with date aperture beneath XII and sectors for month and day of week, painted steel hands, three train eight day movement with six pillars, anchor escapement, trip repeat for the strike and musical movement, Dutch strike on bell and gong, playing twelve tunes on thirteen bells with twenty-four hammers via 22.5 cm. long pinned brass barrel postioned to top of the movement; three large brass weights; pendulum; crank key; door key 293 cm. high
