A FINE AND VERY RARE GEYAO FOLIATE DISH SOUTHERN SONG DYNASTY, 12TH-13TH CENTURY The shallow sides flaring up and out to the notched rim divided into six shallow lobes, covered overall with a satiny glaze of pale grey tone suffused with a wide network of black ('iron-wire') crackle joined by finer gold ('golden thread') crackle which continues over the slightly tapering ring foot to cover the base with its six spur marks that show the dark grey ware, with a narrow metal rim mount of conforming outline 5½ in. (14 cm.) diam., fitted box
