A FINE ANTIQUE KAZAK RUG, the shaded light blue field with small flowerheads and hooked triangular motif panels around a central sea-green octagonal panel with central stellar flowerhead flanked by similar brick-red rectangular panels, divided by golden yellow pole- medallions, stellar flowerhead panels at each end, in a steel-blue border of flowerheads around linked stepped flowerhead lozenges between golden yellow polychrome roundel stripes, outer ivory crab-rosette border, one end braided (heavily corroded black, very slight loss at each end, minute repairs to selvedge) 8ft.11in. x 4ft. 7in. (271cm. x 140cm.)
