A FINE CASED PAIR OF FLINTLOCK OFFICER'S PISTOLS BY JA S WILKINSON & SON, LONDON No.3164 for 1825 Each with sighted browned twist barrel of regulation bore inscribed 'London' on the short flat at the breech, platinum vent, engraved case-hardened breech tang, signed engraved case-hardened lock with bevelled edges, safety-catch, roller and 'French' cock, figured walnut full stock, chequered flattened butt, horn fore-end cap, case-hardened trigger-plate, engraved blued steel trigger-guard and ramrod-pipe, the former with pineapple finial, engraved stirrup ramrod, much original finish, and the stocks with little evidence of use, London proof marks : in original lined and fitted oak case, the lid with brass octagonal escutcheon with flush-fitting handle, large trade label incorporating Wilkinson's No.12 Ludgate Hill address, the case front branded with the owner's initials 'R.K.T', and with some accessories. 14¼in (36.2cm) (2)
