Of honkozane construction, lacquered gold and laced entirely in orange and applied on all the components with gilt-brass crests of the Shimazu family, the suit comprising a 16-plate russet-iron ō-boshi kabuto inscribed on the interior Myōchin Nobuie kore o saku with the rivets finished in gilt and adorned with gilt-brass hardware including a wide four-stage tehen kanamono finishing in a shinodare running down the front plate, a kuwagata-dai pierce carved with sprays of peony and large kuwagata, the bowl fitted with a wide three-lame shikoro terminating in large fukigaeshi; a russet iron menpō forged in two sections, with a bulbous nose, applied with a bushy moustache, the surface decorated overall with yasurime, fitted with a three-lame yodarekake; a nimai okegawa dō applied with printed leather on the muna-ita and waki-ita and fitted with seven sections of five-lame kusazuri; sleeves of plates on the upper arms and splints on the forearms, surrounded by chainmail; ō-sode; kawara haidate; boar-bristle boots; a silvered paper saihai and a russet-iron signal fan; with two armor boxes and an armor stand
