A fine late 18th Century fully rigged boxwood model of the three masted armed lugger 'Alarm' of 1775 -- 14 x 23in. (35.5 x 58.5cm.) With masts, spars, standing and running rigging, full suit of stitched linen sails with rope bindings and reefing points, anchors, windlass, deck rails, companionway, gratings, stove pipe, bilge pumps, deck rings, rope coils, eighteen guns in carriages, twenty swivel guns and planked and framed clinker built ship's boat with bottom boards, thwarts and oars. The planked hull, finished in white to the waterline, lacquer, venetian red and black is mounted in two turned brass supports in shaped mahogany glazed case with inlaid panels, mirrored base and ogee feet (later)
