A fine mid 19th-Century mainly brass model twin cylinder horizontal reversing pit winding engine, with brass bound lagged cylinders 1¼in. bores x 2in. stroke, valve chest lubricators, studded piston rod stuffing boxes, pedestal mounted bar type crosshead guides with webbed top bars, barrelled connecting rods with gibbed and cottered big and little ends, disc cranks, hand lever operated Stephenson's link reverse and centrally mounted spoked flywheel. Additional details include oil can in fitted stand, a matched set of spanners and rack, brass bed with brass hand rails with square headed nuts and other details, the whole finished in polished brightwork and black on mahogany plinth (some loose pieces, some restoration) -- 9 x 17½in.
