A fine mid-19th Century miniature brass and steel model of a horizontal mill engine, the floor-mounted cylinder with centrally mounted valve chest over with separate steamways, eccentric and rocking lever operated valve, pedestal-mounted bar type crosshead guides, barrelled connecting rod, the crankshaft bearings supported in rearward sloping trunnions, belt driven Watt type governor and curved spoke silver plated flywheel, finished in lacquer, the metal floor finished in black with 'gold' edge (later) , and mounted on three waisted brass columns and pad feet -- 2¾ x 4½in.
