A fine Ottico Meccanica Italiana Crytogrpah-CR Cipher Machine, Italian, late 1950's, the green hammerite casing with twenty seven button keyboard at the front and hinged cover opening to a set of electromechanical cypher wheels with twenty six contacts at either side, an entry disc and a reflector similar to the German Enigma, however the OMI Cryptograph-CR has a built-in printer at the front above the keyboard with two paper strips, one showing plain text and the other cipher text, in metal carrying case with accessories and keys, 9½in x 16¾in x 19in (24cm x 42.5cm x 48cm) Fußnoten The Cryptograph-CR was developed and produced by OMI in Rome in the late 1950's and it was intended for use by the Italian Armed forces.
