A finely carved and decorated early 19 t h Century French Prisoner of War bone model of a 56-gun Man-of-War with bound masts, yards with stuns's'l booms, standing and running rigging with scale blocks and left and right hand wound ropes, carved warrior figurehead, hair rails with rope and swag carving, anchors with bone stocks, catheads, belaying rails and pins, capstan, deck rings, stove pipes, bell with canopy over, well deck with ballustrade surround, gratings, bulwarks with rope and crown decoration, upper deck guns, deck light and other details. The planked and pinned hull has finely carved stern gallery detailing with styalised lion and crowned shield decoration and carved quarter windows (some restoration) and is mounted on two bun stands -- 35 x 20in.
