The rocks, pine and wutong trees frame various vignettes including a scholar leaning out of a pavilion window; a scholar holding a staff with his attendant beside him; and a scholar with his hands held aloft, his attendant crouching by a cauldron heating a teapot. The underside of the base is carved with a network of overlapping rocks. 6 ½ in. (16.5 cm.) high
