A finely detailed waterline model of H.M.S. Lapwing , 1943, by P.S. Reed (British, 20th Century), set in a diorama modelled in 32:1 scale, as she would have appeared in 1943, built up in wood and painted in Royal Naval colours. Detailed with jack staff, railings, anchors with chains, hawse pipes, capstans, fairleads, bollards, main and anti-aircraft armament, superstructure with open bridge and wheelhouse, signal mast with radar, radio and other aerials, halyards and rigging, stayed funnel, ladders, motor launch and ship's boats on davits, searchlight platforms, companionways, depth charges in racks, and flying a white naval ensign. Set in a modelled and painted storm-tossed sea, within a glazed wooden display case the case, 14¼ x 7 x 6 in. (36.2 x 17.8 x 15.3 cm.)
