A Four-Case Inro [Medicine Case] Signed Inagawa , Edo Period (Mid-19th Century) Oval with applied himotoshi ; black lacquer ground; decoration in gold, silver and red togidashi-e , hiramaki-e and takamaki-e with shell; compartments, risers and rims gold fundame ; signed in gold hiramaki-e on the base Inagawa saku [made by Inagawa]; slight old damage; metal ojime , black lacquer manju netsuke decorated in similar techniques to the inro , signed Toyo with a kao On each side swallows beneath pendant wistaria blossom 3 9/16 x 1 7/8in. (9.0 x 4.8cm.)
