Beschreibung:

Oil on illustration board. When the well-known members of the New York Friars Club moved to Los Angeles, comedian Milton Berle felt a western version was in order; thus, in 1947, the Friars Club of Beverly Hills was born. It became a hotbed of socializing for such exclusive members as Groucho Marx, Lucille Ball, George Burns, Jack Benny, Judy Garland, Dean Martin, and Ol' Blue Eyes himself, Frank Sinatra. Best known for its "roasting" of members without restraint, the Friars Club eventually changed ownership and the building itself was demolished in 2011. This full-length painting of Sinatra, in his signature 1960s fedora and "nice 'n' easy" stance, was located in the bar of the club. 48 x 70 x 2 in.
