A FRENCH EMPIRE SILVER-GILT MOUNTED GENTLEMAN'S NECESSAIRE DE VOYAGE MOST PIECES WITH THE MARK OF PIERRE-NOEL BLAQUIERE, PARIS, 1809-1819 AND EARLIER Each piece plain with anthemion border, comprising: An oval basin 10 5/8 in. (27.5 cm.) wide A Teapot with horse head spout 7 5/8 in. (20 cm.) wide A silver-gilt mounted glass cream-jug 4¼ in. (10.9 cm.) high A shaving jug with detachable cover and handle 7 in. (17.8 cm.) wide over handle Six various silver-gilt mounted circular glass toilet-jars, (one cover ill-fitting and associated) 3 3/8 in. (8.5 cm.) high and smaller A pair of silver-gilt mounted square glass toilet-jars 4½ in. (11.4 cm.) high A pair of silver-gilt mounted oblong glass toilet-jars 5½ in. (14 cm.) high Two-silver-gilt mounted glass ink-bottles 2 in. (5 cm.) square A silver-gilt table-fork, table-spoons and pair of teaspoons A pair of gilt ceramic teacups and saucers and an assortment of implements, variously in silver-gilt, mother-of-pearl, steel or wood, all contained in a fitted brass-bound mahogany case, the cover set with a plaque with an engraved coat-of-arms below a coronet the case 18 in. (45.8 cm.) long weighable silver 42 oz. (1,298 gr.) The arms are those of the Dukes of Choiseul.
