A FRENCH GILT-BRASS AND PORCELAIN MOUNTED QUARTER REPEATING MINIATURE CARRIAGE CLOCK WITH ALARM the movement signed bourdin, the case signed l. lange. second quarter 19th century The foliate engraved ormolu case stamped by the casemaker L Lange on the underside of the front door with porcelain panels to the sides and rear door painted with spring flowers with a ribbon tie and within a floral gold painted border on a sky blue ground, similar panel to the top with S-form handle and push repeat button, the dial with gold painted Roman chapters and delicate blued steel hands, subsidiary alarm ring below within a floral garland, the movement of unusual layout with rectangular plates, four baluster back-pinned pillars, the going train mounted within the front-plate housed in a nickel finished bell with chain fusee and lever escapement with push repeat system, separate alarm assembly below the backplate with balance regulation and winding squares, signature engraved Bourdin Hger. du Roi rue de la Paix No. 24 A Paris 4¼in.
