A FRENCH GILT-BRONZE AND SÈVRES PATTERN PORCELAIN MANTEL CLOCK AND A SIMILAR PAIR OF SIDE ORNAMENTS Late 19th Century The clock movement with outside countwheel striking on a single bell, inscribed D.C.Rait, Á Paris , with white enamel dial with blue Roman hour numerals and black Arabic minute numerals, inscribed D.C.Rait, Á Paris , enclosed by a glazed door with laurel-cast bezel, in elaborately cast case, the c-scroll and acanthus-cast pediment surmounted by a finial formed as an oval painted porcelain panel depicting a young lady within a landscape, enclosed by an acanthus-cast frame and surmounted by ribbon ties suspending floral chains, the frieze painted with a turquoise ground and gilt-embellished shaped rectangular panel painted with a spray of flowers, three similarly painted porcelain panels below, decorated with courting figures, on acanthus-cast scrolled supports and toupie feet, 17in. (43cm) high; and a pair of similar two-handled vase-shaped side ornaments with detachable covers, each with portrait mask handles and painted with putto and female reclining figures, on spreading indented square base and fluted block feet 12¾in.
