A French mahogany two day marine chronometer. Breguet Nevue & Compie, third series, No 273; Circa 1830 The frosted silvered dial signed Breguet, Nevue & Compie No 273 eccentric hours and minutes dial with gold hands having Roman hour numerals and Arabic ten minute intermarkers 60-10-20 et seque , subsidiary seconds dial with blue steel hand, the movement numbered 273 wound through the bottom of the bowl, elliptical-shaped platform, cut bimetallic Pennington format balance with peripheral screws, grey finish steel helical balance spring with adjustable clamp assemblies for top and bottom coils, spring foot detent now with steel locking pallet and with adjustable clamp to allow for depthing, brass bowl and rhomboid format gimbal ring, with chamfer edging, sliding bolt action locking arm, two-tier mahogany box, the top with circular viewing port and sliding cover inset with diamond-shape brass plaque inscribed No. 273 external brass drop handles; original winding key; Breguet certificate 93 mm. dial., 214 mm. sq. box (2)
