A GARNITURE OF THREE SEVRES (HARD PASTE) PORCELAIN VASES AND COVERS (VASES 'PARIS DE COTE', 1ERE ET 2EME GRANDEUR) CIRCA 1777-1780, IRON-RED CROWNED INTERLACED L'S AND GILDER'S HP FOR PREVOST TO EACH, THE SCENES ATTRIBUTED TO PITHOU, THE TROPHIES TO BUTEUX Each of baluster form, the gilt white fluted neck applied at each side with an acanthus leaf everting into a scroll off the top of which is suspended a garland as the handle, the fronts painted with mythological scenes emblematic of Love: those on the flanking vases after François Boucher with Venus Disarmed and Venus Crowned , that on the central vase after François Lemoyne with Hercules and Omphale , all three painted on the reverse with trophies of Love, each panel reserved within a gilt ciselé medallion on the white ground further gilt with husks and with entwined garlands and crossed branches, the gadrooned covers enriched in gilt and with gilt ball finials, those on the pendant vases replacements in gilt-bronze 15¼ in.
