A gem set crown brooch, the openwork crown in yellow precious metal set with graduated single-cut diamonds, and accented with four cabochon rubies, a central cabochon emerald and six pearls (untested), brooch width 42mm. £300-£400 Condition Report The diamonds are all present, some are a little uneven in cut and some are quite included giving a slightly grey tone. The rubies are bright and well matched, the emerald is rather pale in colour, all have some inclusions and a little wear. One pearl is a little more baroque in form than the others, they are untested for natural vs. cultured origin. The mount has a couple of solder repairs to the reverse and the brooch fitting has been replaced. There is a little light tarnish to the metal around the edges of the piece, but this seems to come off when polished. Gross weight 18gm.
