The small map that is bound in, as issued, is "Map of part of Louisiana copied from Homann's Map Published at Nuremberg in 1712." This shows the Gulf coast from the mouth of the Rio del Norte to Pensacola. In ink on title page: "Presented to the Geological Society of London by W.C. Trevalyan F.G.S.," and on tipped-in slip. The stamp of the Geological Society on title page and a crossed out name. .
