A GEORGE II BRASS AND MOTHER-OF-PEARL INLAID MAHOGANY TRIPOD SUPPER-TABLE ATTRIBUTED TO FREDERICK HINTZ The reeded and brass-banded lobed top with ten joined circular sunk wells and inner five-lobed well centred by a shaped cartouche engraved with a crown, the raised areas with four scallop-shells, various lotus buds and a squirrel eating a nut above a basket of fruit on a stand, on a baluster shaft and C-scroll carved carbriole legs headed by a scroll and with flowerhead above a husk-trail and terminating in pad feet with husk-trailed scallop-shell, the top turned and the locking mechanism reversed, losses to the brass banding, the central brass cartouche later, with label inscribed Hove Museum loan Exhibition 1927 snap top table.
