Property of a Distinguished Private Collection A GEORGE II MAHOGANY CADDY-TOP DOUBLE-SIDED PEDESTAL DESK, MID-18TH CENTURY the leather inset top above an arrangement of eight drawers to each side, on shaped bracket feet76.5cm. high, 119.5cm. wide, 97cm. deep; 30in., 47in., 38¼in. The leather top attractively worn but displays old marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Veneers and cock beading with small patch repairs and replacements throughout, notably around drawer fronts and peripheral edges. One lock will need re-attaching. One handle lacking its drop pull and all handles later but period replacements. Restored age cracks to both sides. Bracket feet possibly shortened and re-tipped. Formerly on castors. Top does not sit comfortably on pedestals and generally the piece would benefit from remedial attention. With 3 keys. Diminutive and nice colour. The lot is sold in the condition it is in at the time of sale. The
