A GEORGE II OAK MONTH-GOING LONGCASE REGULATOR By George Graham London, No. 730 The case of typical simple proportions with double-footed plinth, concave mouldings to the rectangular trunk door, forward-sliding flat-top hood, the 10¼ in. sq. silvered regulator dial signed George Graham London with finely finished blued-steel hands, pin-hole adjustment to the calendar aperture and bolt-and-shutter lever by 15 blued-steel securing screws to the dial feet with steel location pins, the movement with six latched baluster pillars fastening the shouldered plates, the backplate numbered 730 at the base, Bolt-and-shutter maintaining power, Graham's own deadbeat escapement, the pendulum with original bob and calibrated rating nut and now with simple brass rod (probably originally gridiron), the movement secured by means of two bolts through the seatboard into the base pillars and by two robust T-form backboard securing brackets 70in. (180 cm.) high
