A George II silver and tortoiseshell snuff box, a George III silver snuffbox and a William Iv silver snuffbox The first unmarked, circa 1740, the second with maker's mark of William Parkyns, London, 1800, the third with the maker's mark of Edward Smith overstriking another, Birmingham, 1833 The first cartouche-shaped and with moulded border and hinged domed silver-mounted tortoiseshell cover, chased with a band of scrolling foliage beneath the rim, the second oblong with hinged cover, the cover and base chased with radiating flutes and with central oval cartouche, one engraved with the initials GC for Gerald Coke, marked in cover and base , the third oblong and with hinged cover, reeded sides and foliate chased thumbpiece, the cover with vacant oblong cartouche, marked in cover and base 2¾in. (7cm.), 3in. (7.8cm.) and 3in. (7.6cm.) long 5ozs. (155grs.) (3)
