A GEORGE II WALNUT AND BURR WALNUT BUREAU CIRCA 1730-40 Crossbanded and feather-banded overall, the hinged flap revealing a fitted interior with six small walnut-lined drawers and two vertical slides flanking a central door, above two long walnut-lined drawers, the upper drawer with a fielded slide and originally with divisions, now lacking, on a stand with a further long walnut-lined drawer and a shaped foliate-carved apron on cabriole legs headed by lion masks bearing rings hung with ribbons and foliage, and with hairy paw feet, the rear legs with pad feet, originally surmounted with a toilet glass, one back leg replaced 38 in. (97 cm.) high; 32½ in. (83 cm.) wide; 20½ in. (52 cm.) deep
