A GEORGE III APPLEWOOD TEA CADDY CIRCA 1800 Of conventional apple form 11.5cm high Provenance: Private Collection, Surrey Purchased by the current vendor from Lyon & Turnbull, Edinburgh, 12th December 2003, Lot 221 (£4,581.38 including premium). A photocopy of the original receipt is available with this lot. Condition Report: There are some marks, scratches, knocks, chips and abrasions consistent with age and use. Stalk is the right shape- and looks to be fruitwood but feels a little 'sharp' and may be a later replacement There is some colour variation with some possible sun fading to the front/top. There is a small crack adjacent to the exterior lock. Some fine cracks to the interior of the lid. The lining largely flaked and lacking. There is no key, the lock is open.
