A GEORGE III LARGE PEAR-SHAPED BEER JUG on circular slightly spreading-foot and with leaf-capped double scroll handle and curved spout, chased overall with scrolls, flowers and panels of scalework and later engraved with a coat-of-arms within a scroll cartouche, by Charles Wright, 1778 10½in. (26.5cm.) high (50ozs.) The arms are those of King quartering another with Byron in pretence for William, 8th Baron King (1805-1893) and his wife Hon. Ada Augusta Byron, only child of George Gordon, 6th Baron Byron (1788-1824), the poet, whom he married in 1835. He was created 1st Earl of Lovelace in 1838
