A GEORGE III SATINWOOD AND SABICU BONHEUR-DU-JOUR ATTRIBUTED TO GEORGE SIMSON AFTER A DESIGN BY THOMAS SHERATON, LATE 18TH CENTURY The rectangular top with a superstructure with an arched three-quarter gallery above a compartment with a mahogany-lined drawer below, flanked by two bowed panelled doors, each enclosing a compartment with a conforming mahogany-lined drawer below, the base section with a hinged secretaire-drawer with maroon leather-lined writing-surface, enclosing a fitted interior with three pigeon-holes and four mahogany-lined drawers, one drawer compartment with two later glass ink-wells with an ink-well with two glass ink-pots, above a hinged flap enclosing a mahogany shelf, on square tapering legs, the drawers with original ivory handles, the secretaire drawer's lock incised 'HGV 1913', the feet originally applied with mouldings, the central drawer of the superstructure inscribed in pen 'en/a/b/FM/EM' 48 in. (122 cm.) high; 29 in. (73.5 cm.) wide; 18 in. (45.5 cm.) deep
