A George III silver-mounted mahogany knife-box containing Dutch silver cutlery The knife-box, mark of James Wiburd, London, circa 1770, the Dutch spoons and forks, mark of Johannes Koop, Amsterdam, 1745, the knives, Amsterdam, circa 1775, maker's mark indistinct The knife-box with serpentine front, sloping cover and ebonized borders, on three silver claw-and-ball feet with pierced foliage above, with similar silver lock plate and drop-ring handles, with red velvet lining, enclosing: twelve Dutch table-spoons, the tops of the stems with applied lambrequin and tassel, the reverse with shell and double drop, six later engraved with initial P , six with initial C beneath English viscount's coronet twelve similar table-forks, the tops engraved with initial C beneath English viscount's coronet twelve Dutch table-knives with steel blades, the fluted curved handles with beaded and interlaced scroll bands the knife-box marked on lock plate, handles and some mounts, the spoons and forks on reverse, the knives on handle the knife-box, 36.2 cm. (14¼ in.) high the spoons and forks, 1558 gr. (50 oz.) (37)
